Your Quick Guide To Acne Facts, Tips And Treatments
by Helen Hecker

You can do it -- look better, feel better, and raise your self-esteem 150% by getting rid of your acne for good. Almost 100% of people between the ages of twelve and seventeen have at least occasional breakouts of whiteheads, blackheads or a pimple, now and then. Natural treatment methods are always a better choice for acne due to less exposure to drugs and chemical-laden acne products.

Baby acne is a rash seen on the cheeks, chin, and forehead of infants. Acne vulgaris is most commonly experienced around puberty, typically of the face, shoulders and chest. Acne will affect almost every person at some stage of their life. Nearly 80 percent of people from ages 11 to 30 years have acne, most often on the face, chest and back. In a survey conducted in Great Britain, 95% of 16-year-old males and 83% of 16 year-old females had acne.

The cause of acne is really unknown. It's not true that dirty skin and stress cause acne. Doctors think certain factors might cause or contribute to acne including hormone increases in teenage years, hormone changes in pregnancy, starting or stopping birth control pills, heredity, medicines and greasy make-up. I think the cause of acne is related to our Standard American Diet (SAD) and that would also influence all our hormones.

It's easy to treat acne cheaply, simply, naturally, yet effective, at home. If you're going to buy acne products, it's much more worth your while to buy acne-treating products that work against current pimples and that also fight against the occurrence of new ones.

Coconut is one of the best treatments I've found for acne. Raw apple cider vinegar application is a cheap, alternative acne treatment that has worked for many adults, teens and children with acne, zits, pimples, or blemishes.

One treatment method some people have used is applying cornstarch, egg whites or milk of magnesia as a facial mask. For a good acne treatment, that has worked for many, try applying virgin coconut oil daily, but on a small test area first. A new treatment using red light and blue light has been extremely successful on severe acne.

Acne scars are an ongoing reminder of a common skin condition that can cause embarrassment and social isolation. Scars may also contribute to a person looking older than their age as the skin loses its elasticity over the years. As a registered nurse, I have learned a lot over the years about acne scars, acne scar treatments, and acne scar removal.

People with skin disorders such as acne, rosacea, and psoriasis often suffer from constipation. Drink lots and lots of pure, filtered water. In any case, no matter what skin or acne treatment you choose, whether it is chemical, drugs, alternative, or natural methods, changing your diet will result in your overall good health! Essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne.

And fatty acids are particularly important to people with dry skin. Good skin is often a reflection of a good digestive system. Eat high-fiber snacks like raw nuts, raw seeds, and dried fruit, such as dates, and figs.

Unclean skin favors the development of pathogenic organisms - the dead cells that continually slough off of the epidermis mix with the secretions of the sweat and sebaceous glands and the dust found on the skin to form a filthy layer on its surface. The skin must be regularly cleaned or it'll become cracked or inflamed.

And whatever you do stop purchasing hundreds of dollars in skin care acne treatment solutions. By simply following a plan you've developed for yourself and sticking with it, you can reduce the severity of your acne or even eliminate it entirely. In any case, try not to panic about your acne and take it day by day.

Myths About Acne
by Charley Hwang

Acne is one of the common conditions that teenagers and even adults face nowadays. Do we blame pollution, food and even environment as the cause of acne? Modern science has improved dramatically to help us battle acne and might also discover truth of these myths.

Hygiene is considered as one of the most important aspects to ensure good health. One of the myths says 'Poor hygiene causes acne' which has been accepted widely in the society. However, it is not the main reason for the outbreak of acne which is due to 'sebum' and dead cells that are hidden under the skin and it is hard to cleanse. To minimize the outbreak, a gentle wash can be done easily on a daily basis.

What kind of food that will cause acne? As we believe, chocolate, junk food and greasy food can cause acne.
How true is this? Some scientific research had been done to verify this myth in which the data from the experiment is not solid enough to prove this myth is true. However, iodine can cause acne outbreak and it is mostly found in seafood that we love to eat. Good health is the basic to reduce acne outbreak; thus, lessen the intake of the food mentioned above to ensure an acne free face.

Generally, medicine nowadays can either help or worsen the problem of acne. Many people think that applying more topical medication can cause acne to become worse. This myth is not true and people should not believe it but continue the medication prescribed. In some cases, acne ointments will cause inflammation of the skin. Professional consultation is needed in order to quantify the amount of medication to be taken.

We often hear that acne is common among teenagers but how about people in their 30's? Acne can strike anyone at any age. But, acne usually clears up when a person reaches early stage of their 20's. However, some may also have acne outbreak in their 30's which is not common.

As we know, acne can be seen clearly through someone's physical appearance but does the damage stops there? Patients of acne will tell you otherwise, acne can cause emotional stress which can last for a long time. It can also cause emotional outbreak such as low self esteem, self centered, seclusion from community and depression.

Some of the myths are carried down from generation to generation and some are created just for the sake of comfort and beliefs. Therefore, it is always a good idea to seek professional consultation for an effective acne treatment instead of believing the myths that could have make things even worse.

Cure Acne Naturally In Just 3 Days
by Sarah Rhodes

Acne scars, like any type of scarring, can seldom be permanently removed. Fortunately, there are several acne treatments now available that can help the scarred area return to a more "normal" appearance.

Does being out in the sun help acne? The answer is "no". The sun may appear to help clear up your blemishes and redden your skin, thus lessening the overall reddish effect of the targeted acne area when it was outstanding. However, rays from the sun can cause skin damage and actually irritate skin more, worsening any existing acne problems in the process and clogging more pores as skin cells dry up and slough off quicker than normal. So use caution and sunscreen when going out into the sun!

Tetracycline is the most common antibiotic used for treating acne. It reduces inflammation and is used to kill the bacteria responsible for the acne. It may take several weeks to a few months for antibiotic treatments to take effect. This type of treatment must continue even after the acne has cleared up. Common side effects that have been associated with Tetracycline include an increase in sensitivity to sun light. This may potentially cause a bad sunburn should the patient dwell in the sun for too long of a time. Various other side effects include hives, dizziness and upset stomachs.

How can I avoid acne scarring? Because we know so little about what causes one person to scar more easily than another, the best way to avoid scarring is to prevent acne. It's important to treat the condition early in its course, and for as long as necessary. The more inflammation you can prevent, the less likely you are to scar. In the event that you do get acne lesions, it's important to treat them with the proper medication rather than squeeze or pick at them. Handling the skin -- squeezing with your fingernails, poking pimples with a pin, or whatever -- significantly increases damage to surrounding tissue, and thereby increases the chance that the lesion will leave a permanent scar and acne scar treatment will be necessary.

There are many moisturizers available that are specifically designed to help with acne such as Cetaphil, Eucerin, and Neutrogena. Severe acne, or acne that has not responded well to over the counter products, can be successfully treated with the knowledge and expertise of a dermatologist. A dermatologist will consider many things before suggesting treatment. He will perform a thorough evaluation of the patient, considering things such as severity of acne, patient age, lifestyle, and co-existing conditions. The dermatologist then may suggest a combination of two or three different therapies for best treatment.

While laser skin resurfacing, Dermabrasion, and chemical peels are the most popular methods for acne scar removal, injection methods are also used. The injections may contain collagen, or fat taken from other parts of the body. While these injections work well, they do have to be repeated often, and they can be quite expensive. The injections do not actually remove or heal the scars - it simply hides them by filling them up.

Exercise Your Way to Healthier Skin

Exercise Your Way to Healthier Skin
by Louise Forrest

Sufferers of oily skin do not just suffer from excess oil production on their faces. They also suffer from skin that does not appear healthy, pores that become clogged and aggravated, outbreaks of acne, and the emotional toll it takes when people see oily skin and think callous thoughts. In those respects, oily skin can become more than just a skin type. It becomes a condition that can put a weight of unhappiness on your shoulders.

But perhaps you already have established a good skin care regime. You cleanse, carefully exfoliate, use toner, avoid moisturizers, and stay away from any products that will cause your skin to automatically produce more oil. You may have even heard the news that eating healthy helps take better care of your skin and have thus improved your diet. If this is the case, then you are already on your way to improved skin. Yet there is still one more little thing you can do that will help you on the road to drier, healthier skin.

Do you exercise? If not, that could be exactly what you are missing. It does not entirely matter what it is that you decide to do. Go jogging. Do yoga. Lift weights. Take a karate class. Exercise does not necessarily mean you have to drive yourself to the limit of exhaustion, nor does it mean you have to focus on bulking up your muscles or losing weight. Exercising simply to keep fit and letting your skin reap the benefits is all you need to aim for.

Because societies have become so focused on exercise as the hard way to weight loss, people forget the fact that exercise is simply good for them, and in this case, for your oily skin. Not only does exercise help build collagen which reduces wrinkles and fine lines, as well as increasing healthy and helpful circulation which provides nutrients to skin cells, it can help make a big difference in your fight against oily skin.

You already know that acne outbreaks are caused by an overproduction of oil on your skin; too much sebum catches foreign particles and clogs pores. This oil production is often due to hormone variations. Regular exercise can help regulate certain hormones, giving your body more internal balance and easing the production of sebum, which will lead to less oil and less acne.

Stress is another important factor in the production of sebum and exercise can help you to unwind, taking out all that extra energy. In doing so, it also takes out the reasons behind the extra oil production, offering you less oily skin to deal with.

The sweat produced while you work out is also helpful. Because oily skin can mean clogged pores, a good sweat will push out all those clogging materials and give you an edge over any acne breakouts that may have been looming.
After a time, you may even notice a change in your skin color. While living with oily skin you may have noticed your complexion to be duller, maybe with uneven coloring in your skin. Exercise will help to bring back your rosy cheeks and healthy glowing skin from all the cleansing your exercise has given it, from both sweating and the increased circulation.

Always be sure to drink plenty of water after you have finished your exercise of choice. Drinking water, though it has nothing to do with adding moisture to your skin (that is a fable; drinking water does not suddenly moisturize skin!), it does hydrate your body and the overall effects of a healthier body includes healthier skin.

A myth to look out for is the myth of facial exercises. If you want to help your oily skin by exercise, this means you must do full body exercises, not facial exercises. These do nothing to help your skin, either in the next few months or the next few years. In fact, facial exercises may even increase winkles and fine lines rather than help you avoid them. They will do absolutely nothing in the ways of helping you free yourself from oily skin.

Adding exercise to your plan of attack when it comes to oily skin may be the final trick to helping you control your oily skin. Not to mention that you will feel better, have more energy, and look great overall.

Treatments for Acne Symptoms

Treatments for Acne Symptoms
by George Cleanthous

Before I begin I must first re-emphasise that the only way to truly prevent acne is to address the underlying cause inside the body with a healthy pH balance, as previously mentioned. However, if you are to use a treatment to supplement this until you have achieved and maintained the right pH level, then here are a few pointers.

Without a doubt, the most important factor in choosing a treatment is its natural qualities. It's very simple: the more natural the better. Any treatment that has any chemical or mineral that does not occur naturally in nature will have side effects. Treatments can often cause more damage than they repair. For example, most acne creams will use an active ingredient (most frequently benzoyl peroxide or a similar chemical) to dry the affected area. While this can be effective in the short term, daily use can lead to excessively dry skin and can also cause 'rebound' effect - meaning that when you stop using the product a large number of pimples will be produced very quickly, often being worse than before the treatment was started. Despite this, in moderate use there are some products than can be effective when combined with other treatments.

For instance, the best treatment for acne scars that I have so far discovered is the Proativ Repairing Lotion. Now rather than buy the entire pack (with face wash and toner) I choose to buy only the repairing lotion. Any facial scrub and toner will do the same if not very similar job as the Proactiv option.

Facial scrubs and/or exfoliating loufas are a daily essential not just for acne sufferers, but for all who wish to look after their skin. All day, every day our skin is shedding dead cells. Most of the time these dead skin cells do not are not completely disposed of and remain on the skin attracting bacteria and allowing a higher build-up of oil. Using a facial scrub 'exfoliates' the skin, clearing the dead cells and cleaning it from excess oil and dirt.

Some "all natural" treatments have been processed beyond recognition and I know that naturally occuring treatments are hard to find but it is still the best option I have found. Facial masques (like mud and cucumber masques) can rejuvenate the skin and keep it as healthy as possible. They disinfect existing blemishes and reduce infammation while keeping the skin fresh and moisturised.

The best product I have found for the treatment of active acne is by far Himalayan Crystal Salt. This is not advertised as a treatment for acne and usually cannot be bought from your local chemist. I purchase mine online in a bar form (i.e. in the shape of a soap bar). Crystal salt is easy to apply (just wet the bar and apply to skin), it is cheap to buy, and is 100% completely natural. Himalyan Crystal Salt has over 90 of the elements concentrated over 250million years. It works much like salt water does, by drying the skin and allowing it to absorb the nutrients. You may be wondering why this is such an effective treatment but think of any surfers or swimmers that you know. How many have acne? None. Salt is one of the most effective treatments against any infection and is an essential part of the human body. And by drying the skin (naturally) it prevents the development of further acne. You should apply it to affected areas anywhere on the body at least 2 times a day for the best results.

Medication should be avoided at all costs. You do not want to put antibiotics in your body unless you are extremely sick. Excessive use of antibiotics will reduce your body's own production of antibiotics and make you more vulnerable to sickness and infection.

In my experience, it is best not to settle for a single treatment. A combination of treatments often returns the greatest results. I personally use Himalayan Crystal salt for the treatment of all acne all over my body and I use Proactiv Repairing lotion for the treatment of acne scars. Remember though, these treatments will not stop the acne and if you do not address the imbalance in your body, the damage can occur in other places. Your body will always try to eliminate toxins somehow and if you manage to treat the acne, it will come out somewhere else. You may put on weight or develop diseases. So by all means use treatments. But make sure they are your second line of attack.

Acne Scar Treatment Procedures

Acne Scar Treatment Procedures
by Yuki Shoji

Acne conditions vary from mild to very severe, but it is normally the severe acne that causes scars to form, particularly the severe inflammatory nodulocystic acne. You must avoid pinching and squeezing the acne, because this can result in permanent scars. It is therefore very important to prevent the formation of acne scars by following an appropriate acne scar treatment. Keep in mind that acne scars could take up to a year to heal on their own.

The most popular acne scar treatment procedures are:

1) Subcutaneous Incision

2) Dermal Fillers

3) Laser Surfacing

Subcutaneous incision is also known as subcision. This acne treatment procedure is used to treat several types of scars, particularly the rolling scars. Fibrous bands that force the skin to roll cause the rolling scars, leaving an undulated surface. The purpose of the subcutaneous incision is to break up the fibrous scar tissues.

A local anesthesia is used in the process, where a special bevelled needle is inserted under the skin and parallel to the skin surface. The needle is used in a piston-like movement and carefully cuts the fibrous bands. The subcutaneous incision acne scar treatment requires several sessions before acquiring the desired results. Be advised that this acne scar treatment may cause bruising that disappears after about a week.

Dermal fillers are used as an acne treatment method to attenuate and prevent the formation of acne scars. Several substances may be used as dermal fillers, such as fat, hyaluronic acid derivatives, collagen, and polytheyl-methacrylate microspheres with collagen.

These dermal fillers are injected underneath the acne scars, raising the scars to the level of the surrounding skin, obtaining a smoother look and feeling. The acne scar treatment using dermal fillers is not a permanent solution and may require periodic injections for maintenance. Why? The answer lies in the fillers. For example, collagen is one of the substances used and it breaks down over time.

Laser surfacing is the most popular method used for treating acne. This method is also used to treat other skin problems such as age spots and wrinkles. There are several different procedures involving laser skin surfacing, but the use of carbon dioxide, Erbium YAG (ErYAG), and long pulsed erbium (YAG) lasers remain the most popular.

Basically, what the laser does is remove the first skin layer by burning it to a specific depth. The removed skin is then replaced, upon healing, by a healthier skin. In general, acne patients are satisfied with the laser surfacing treatment to heal and correct acne scars. Laser surfacing is particularly recommended for very deep scarring. Be advised that this acne scar treatment causes reddening of the skin and discomfort during the healing process.

Acne scar treatments may do miracles on your skin, but you must know when you can do the treatment. Your skin must be free of active acne before you may consider acne scar treatment. So, what must you do first before undergoing acne scar treatment? Clear your skin!

Avoiding The Trauma Of Acne At Any Age
by Dave Cahill

Whether you are entering your teenage years or you're a little longer in the tooth, you can find yourself having to face the terribly distressing affliction known as acne. While there are many causes for acne and identifying each one is more than a single article can do, identifying a few of the major causes can help you move a step closer to having clear, healthy and glowing skin.

Hair - A little known fact about acne prevention that few are aware of, is that proper acne skin care involves clean hair - especially if the hair is shoulder length, around the face. The culprit is the natural oils in your hair. If the oils get on the skin they can become one of the factors that cause acne. As a result, it becomes imperative that you keep your hair clean by using a mild shampoo on a daily basis.

Diet and Nutrition - One of the major acne culprits is the consumption of an oily and unhealthy diet that people of all ages follow. Hamburgers and ice cream, excessive chocolate and overly processed foods all contribute to an unbalanced diet and only hinder you goal of glowing, healthy skin. The skin will only be healthy if you drink plenty of water (avoid pop at all costs), green leafy vegetables, fruits and proper trace minerals. Iodine and magnesium, which most people are deficient in, are great supplements to add to your diet. Iodoral is a great Iodine supplement and when looking for magnesium you need to avoid the cheap supplements that contain magnesium oxide.

Try to Avoid Pinching, Rubbing or Picking Your Acne - A good ground rule of acne skin care is to never irritate it. If you need to "pop" a pimple, do it with care or go to a dermatologist or perhaps a qualified beauty salon where you can have your pimples "popped" with the help of steaming and deep cleaning of the pores. Improper pimple "popping" can result in infection, even scarring.

Never Cover Acne with Make-Up or Cosmetics - The golden rule of acne skin care says to abstain from putting any makeup on the face when it's covered with acne. Clearly, the reason behind this is because it aggravates the pimples and it can cause more harm than good and let's face it, if you've got acne covering it with make-up doesn't hide it anyway. At the most, you could use some under-eye cream at night before you go to bed but other than that it's a serious no-no.

Follow the above tips and you can fight and win the war against acne and enjoy the glowing skin you were born with.

Tip - For information on the #1 Rated All Natural Acne Treatment that works from the inside out, click on the first link below.

Acne Treatments For Clear, Smooth Skin
by Michelle Bery

When you suffer from acne, every day can be its own nightmare. Inconsistent and unpredictable skin can have you waking every morning wondering what story your face will be telling that day. Acne treatment can't come soon enough and for those who deal with acne, the right acne treatment can change their life.

But even after acne has been treated, the resulting complexion can carry its own set of burdens. Healthy skin - now clear of breakouts - can still carry the remnants of violent acne in the shape of pockmarks, scars, and redness. This can be the cruelest thing of all; still displaying the ravages of a condition you've finally managed to beat.

Luckily, there is a multitude of acne treatments available for those who want to rid themselves once and for all of the effects of acne. In this age of technological advancement, professional dermatologists now offer a wide array of services that can greatly improve the look of your now healthy skin.

Chemical peels - probably the most well-known of the acne treatments - are done by a skin care professional and involve the application of an acid-based product to the skin. This acid removes the top layer of skin. While several treatments may be necessary to obtain the best results, chemical peels are relatively painless and simple procedures.

For those whom pockmarked, indented skin is the issue, the best results may come from an acne treatment known as augmentation. During augmentation, the skin care professional will actual inject a non-toxic material underneath the indented skin thus filling out the crevice and eliminating the pockmark.

Dermabrasion can be likened to exfoliation but is much more thorough. Because of the intensity of this acne treatment, the skin must first be numbed after which a special machine is used to slough away the first layer of skin. Dermabrasion can be enormously effective; most patients see results within a few short weeks.

One of the more invasive methods includes an acne treatment known as punch technique wherein a scar is actually surgically administered to in one of three ways; in the replacement technique where the scar is cut directly from the skin and replaced with new skin obtained from a graft; the excision technique wherein the scar is removed and the wound permitted to heal; and the elevation technique during which the scar is cut from the bottom and allowed to move to the top of the skin to fill out the area.

Finally subcision, another form of acne treatment, includes the excision of the scar after which the blood is allowed to clot beneath the wound. The subsequent scar tissue pushes the indented skin to the surface resulting in a smooth complexion.

Acne doesn't have to be a lifetime sentence. Now you can rid yourself of acne and discover brand new skin with acne treatment.

Acne Treatments and Products: The Truth
by George Cleanthous

It is no secret that there are thousands of acne treatments available all over the world. And while I emphasise in my posts that the key is to target the underlying cause, I must also advise that treatments are still effective in fighting the symptoms themselves.

Allow me to clarify. Cleansing your body of toxins and maintaining a healthy pH balance is the only way to entirely prevent acne symptoms from occuring and will also eliminate infected blemishes. However, in the time from starting your diet change until the healthy level is reached (and even on an ongoing basis), acne treatments can help minimise your acne symptoms, and in some cases are good for your skin anyway.

For example, I recommend always using an exfoliating facial scrub and a loufa for showers to remove the dead skin. Not only does this unclog pores but it also cleans the outer layer of skin and gives a much more vibrant look. This should be a regular skin maintenance technique for everyone (not just acne sufferers).

On the other hand, chemical and alcoholic treatments should be avoided at all costs. The more natural the better because when you stop using a chemical treatment you will often face a rebound effect (meaning that you will get severe symptoms for a short period when stopping). You should always look at the ingredients of anything that you put on your skin and be extremely diligent about the effects it has.

Medication is also a huge no-no. Doctor's will often prescribe an anti-biotic as an effective treatment for acne. While in some cases this does work, anti-biotics will only reduce the infections, will not eliminate the underlying cause, and in general should be avoided unless extremely sick. A healthy body produces enough anti-biotics to protect against infection and a simple change in diet will immediately eliminate any minor infections in the body. Also, excessive use of any anti-biotic will extremely reduce the strength of your body's immune system and will cause your body to build a tolerance to it. If one day you become very ill, anti-biotics will have a much lower effect.

Toners are a common treatment advertised and used for acne but I must emphasise that it should be applied in moderation and again should be alcohol-free. The purpose of a toner is to keep the pores unclogged for longer periods of time. Many users often overapply toners and it can cause exceedingly dry skin which is extremely vulnerable to adverse effects (like sunburn).

And just to let you know pores never close, they are always open. They just become clogged as I have described in my previous post "What Causes Acne? The Science". Any treatment advertising that it will "open" pores is most likely an amateurish treatment from someone that has not done proper research.

By far the best treatment you can look for is one that is all natural. I have tried facial Masques and natural creams but I have discovered a treatment that is almost universally not associated with acne. In my research I came across an acne sufferer that used this treatment for egzema and discovered its affects on acne. The product is Himilayan Crystal Salt and can be bought online from numerous locations. I found that eBay was the best.

It is extremely inexpensive, 100% natural and the most effective treatment I have used. I will go into more detail on this treatment in my next post.

And before I go, let me just remind you that all treatments are for the symptoms of acne ONLY. They will not address the cause. The only way to officially target the cause of acne is with a healthy pH balance.

Which Available Acne Treatments Do A Great Job?
by Jo Wood

Whether you happen to be a teenager or an adult who is suffering from acne, you're probably looking for an acne treatment that works so that you don't have to spend your life living with it. In this article we will provide you with 10 easy and effective ways of treating your acne.

1. Stop picking, pressing or rubbing those spots. These actions will only increase the amount of sebum that your body produces and will rupture the membranes below your skin. This will make the infection and sebum that cause acne spread underneath your skin and more spots will result. You are also increasing the chances of your face becoming scarred.

2. Wash your face twice daily. It is important that you only wash your face twice daily using a mild soap. If possible, buy one that is sulfur based as it is specifically designed for acne. But if your skin is too oily then use a soap that has benzoyl peroxide in it. Never use rough sponges, brushes or anything similar in order to wash your face and do not over wash it or it will stimulate the sebaceous glands. They will then produce more sebum and so increase the amount of acne that you have.

3. Look at what you are eating. For some people their acne can actually be caused by a food allergy and it is vital that you should avoid eating too much oily or spicy food. There have been recent studies carried out where it has been shown that acne is caused by milk which contains hormones and also seafood which contains relatively high levels of iodine. So wherever possible cut down on these foods and increase your intake of green vegetables, vegetable juices and foods which are rich in zinc as they can help to alleviate the problems associated with acne.

4. Drink plenty of water. If you can, drink at least 8 glasses of water each day as it can help to carry waste material out of the body and it really does help to heal and prevent acne flare ups.

5. Do not wear makeup. If you do not need to wear make up then don't, as it can clog your pores and this will cause more blackheads and spots. But if you do need to wear make up then make sure it is a water based product (rather than oil based). Also cleanse your skin before you go to sleep each night and ensure that you clean your make up brushes regularly.

6. Keep away from oil products. It is important that you avoid such products as hair pomades, intense oil based facial moisturizers and oily cleansers as they will excacerbate your acne.

7. Keep your face clean. Try not to rest your chin on your hands or touch your face constantly with your hands. Also regularly shampoo your hair and keep it tied back from your face especially when you go to sleep.

8. Exercise Take up some form of moderate exercise which will help your blood to circulate properly and will also help to eliminate toxins from your body.

9. Get your Stress Levels Down or Remove them altogether. Studies carried out have shown that stress will not only increase an acne flare up but it also worsens the condition of a person's skin. So either talk to your friends or listen to your favorite music or just take a walk in the park. Do whatever you need to do in order to stay stress free.

10. Go out in the Sun and Get some Fresh Air The sun is good as it stimulates Vitamin D in our bodies which is essential for healthy skin. Both fresh air and sunshine can also reduce our stress levels and increase the amount of oxygen to our skin. But be careful and do not get burnt as heavily tanned skin forms a layer on the skin which does not exfoliate quickly and can then lead to your skin's pores becoming blocked.

Hopefully the points provided above will provide you with some ideas regarding acne treatment and how to deal with acne should you suffer from it at any point in your life.

Vacation Spots With Teen Concierges

A Growing Trend In Vacation Spots With Teen Concierges
by James Ellison

Some major hotels employ teenage chief assistants (concierges) in their hotel who specialize in offering tips on popular hangouts, stores and activities. Other hotels boast teen focused spa treatments, such as cosmetic lessons and care for the face for acne prone skin. And then some are setting aside space and events just for teens.

Throughout the time of summer, that means movie nights, showing movies such as Napoleon Dynamite and performances with local bands. Operating throughout the year, a teen lounge is equipped with iPod ready chairs with built-in speakers, dvds, a flat-screen tv, video games, an internet computer and a batch of magazines, like Seventeen and Surfing.

A new study indicated that baby boomers and older members of the generation following the baby boom were stimulating a boom in family vacations. Experts are claiming teens are showing more involvement in family vacations than they did 5 or 6 years ago.

Baby boomers are recognizing that their children are in the last years where family vacations are a possibility due to a favorable combination of circumstances and are realizing that more than ever before, kids in the family need to be active in the planning of a vacation.

Some major hotels started hiring teen concierges last year at their properties in large vacation cities around the US and Canada. These teens are locals who know the region, and many are in high school or college. Many of the hotels are supplied with the young concierges during the summer and major vacation times.

Moms and dads were disappointed because their kids did not know what activities to take part in and the kids didn't like their parents' views. This comes with built in quality of being believable or trustworthy because the concierge is a teen also.

If the teen guests wish to shop for clothes, for instance, the teen concierge would not just direct them to favorites. A teen concierge at the Chicago hotel would suggest a lot of clothing stores in the popular areas. That is something you can't find everyplace.

Rollerblading spots in the city, clubs that admit under 21 customers and a yogurt bar were all within the teen concierge's upmost recommendations.

Not all suggestions are original. The full-time concierge makes some of the same referrals. But teens tend to be more willing to take their advice. It is actually helpful to have some other teens help teens find things to do.

Some travel consultants won't look at a hotel any longer unless they have items for families, so they can make a vacation out of it.

The average age of the travel consultants has come down to 42 from 55 with more parents of teens and children between the ages of 8 and 12 years on board.

Some of the teens claim it's really comfortable hanging out in the teen lounge with brothers and friends. We do not worry about adults coming in there and ruining their time. It gives them a bunch of freedom. Response, especially from parents, has been good. They claim the vacation was saved.
